This weekend was really good and went way too fast. Friday night we found a babysitter and saw "Cowboys and Aliens". I believe I already shared my opinion of not combining Cowboys and aliens.
Saturday morning I went for a jog...the longest one in a while. That is time wise. It wasn't that fast but it was 33 minutes long. Then we went to the church and helped set up for New Beginnings later that night.
After setting up we went for a drive to find a shooting range. We found one north of where we live where we could take both of our rifles and our pistol. So then I found a babysitter and we went to the shooting range. It was awesome. The range master was a Marine and likes to help people get better and more accurate. He gave us a lot of helpful tips and our pistol shooting got better and better.
I hadn't shot my 7mm in probably about 3 years due to living out of state and being pregnant every hunting season. It was so nice to shoot it. I missed it.
New beginnings started at 6:30. Sorry I didn't take my camera. It was wonderful. We all started out together and then we split up to man our stations. My station was the plank crossing. They were to imagine that they were treasure hunters who had taken a short cut and gotten lost. They had come to a fast flowing river full of alligators. They needed to get to the other side - where camp was. They had two logs and several rocks(cinder blocks) to get across. It was interesting how many different ways were used. They only had 10 minutes at each station which made it hard to get everyone across. They all were on their way but some ran out of time.
After all the stations then we met back up in one location and awarded the Personal Progress awards to the three girls who had finished and the one leader who had finished. Then there were deserts and clean up. It was a really good day.
Sunday we went to church. All of us. It was the first time in a month due to people being sick. After church we hung out in the house for a while and then just went for a drive looking at houses.
I love time spent with my family on the weekend.
I hope that you all had a wonderful weekend as well.
Welcome to my blog. I hope that you enjoy it. My goal is to keep everyone posted as to my sewing and things that will be sold in my store at http://www.idahoatheart.etsy.com/.
I'll also blog about other things that interest me like my family, cooking (sharing receipes), things I learn along the way, etc. Hope you all enjoy.

A good weekend
We had an awesome weekend. My husband had a business trip last week and then didn't have to work Friday. So we went to Tulsa. I had heard a lot about Fleet Feet and how they will watch you run and then tell you what type of shoe you need. So I ran on their treadmill and was told that when I run my legs stay in alignment really well actually. That was a relief. I have been worried that things are a little off. So I tried on some Adidas, Nike, and Asics and I really liked the Adidas but could feel a line in the center of my foot. I also really liked the Asics and didn't like the Nike at all. So my husband bought me some Asics for Mother's day.
Then when we got home we got all packed up and went camping. It was so fun. We hadn't been camping in almost a year. We set up camp. I got a fire going while my husband and our friend went looking for firewood. Then I carved us some hot dog roasting sticks and we had hot dogs and s'mores. We sat around the fire for a while and then went to bed. Yana slept all night long but Sarah wouldn't sleep. She finally fell asleep at about 5 in the morning.
In the middle of the night I kept hearing noises. Like the handle of our dutch oven moved, someone/thing stepped on our truck bumper and then the last straw was when it sounded like someone had just closed our food box. So I woke my husband up and he grabbed his knife and flashlight and went out to check on it. We think we had raccoons in our truck because the garbage was all over in the truck and there were paw prints on the lid of the dutch oven. So then we went back to bed and about 45 minutes later the garbage can in the next camp ground was tipped over. It was a very interesting night.
Saturday we had breakfast and cleaned up camp and made a cobbler. After lunch we had everything packed up and we drove around to the swimming area and went swimming. It was SOOOO cold but we had fun.
Later after we were home I wanted to go for a run so bad that I wasn't paying attention. I went jogging at 3:30 and pushed my daughter in her stroller. She fell asleep and I was drained by the heat. But my shins didn't seem to hurt lol.
Mothers day was good. We got lemon sugar body scrubs at church and then had some friends over for dinner. It was a wonderful weekend and I can't wait to go camping again.

Jogging
I love to jog or I guess more the feeling I have after I have gone for a good jog. I had a really good jog tonight and remembered why I enjoy it so much. I got back into jogging about a month ago and then things got hectic, there were snow storms, weddings, and laziness. I lost 6 pounds a month ago and have just been hanging out in limbo. I decided that I had to get back into jogging.
Why do I jog? Why do I jog to lose weight? I do because it works for me. My daughter Sarah is 3 now. I gained like 50 pounds during that pregnancy and about 30 pounds between my wedding and when I got pregnant. After I had Sarah it took a couple months but I finally got fed up with being so heavy. I was sick of myself really. At that point I found Sparkpeople.com and followed their steps and started doing exercises. I walked a lot, did a lot of wall push ups, sit ups, crunches, leg lifts and lots of other exercises. I had started running at the end of my mission and really enjoyed it so I started jogging little by little and every week I tried to lose 2 pounds.
I had slow weeks and hard months but in the end I got back down to 170 and loved it. It works for me and I enjoy it. I ran a 10K and loved it and would like to run another race. I would like to run a half marathon but need to get in shape first.
I still have 30 pounds to lose and finally got sick of seeing all my close folded on the top shelf of my closet. Saturday I started running again and today I ran again. My goal is to run 3-4 times a week and get over my afternoon eating temptations. I will get down to my goal weight and I will use jogging again to do so.
If you don't jog and want to jog just start slowly, that is what I'm doing again. I struggle with the fact that it takes time but I am so excited for the day when I get back to where I was before.
Remember to stretch after a run and drink lots of water.
Good luck. It will come.
